Wednesday 20 March
Read Luke 17:20–18:14
Think
Lk 17:20-37 – Its easy to get distracted by verses 34-37 and
some of the other ‘end days’ phrases of this passage. All of this has to do with Jesus’ phrase:
“The Kingdom of God is among you” (Verse 21).
The Kingdom of God is where God is King, and where God is King; justice
is done.
Lk 18:1-8 – After the warning about judgment Jesus tells a
story about how even an unjust judge can be convinced to do what is right in
the end. How much more will God bring
justice to the earth?
Lk 18:9-14 – ‘God be merciful to me, a sinner!’
